Eighteen moths after closing its store at the city's Kingston district centre, Mamas & Papas is returning to MK.

The pram, nursery and childrenswear retailer will open a 2,000 square foot space in Next’s store at Central Milton Keynes - the site of the old Debenhams.

The concession is due to open on July 30.

Mamas and Papas had a large store at Kingston district centre but shut down late in 2019, shortly after Mothercare closed. Bosses at the time said in-store sales were dwindling due to more customers choosing to shop online.

Ironically the store was next door to Next at the district centre, but two months later Next also closed its doors - along with the neighbouring M&S store.

Next took over the huge former Debenhams premises at intu last year, selling beauty and homeware.

The new concession will stock Mamas & Papas’ ranges of travel systems, nursery furniture and children’s clothing, and will also offer personal shopping appointments, car seat consultations, fittings, and click and collect.

Mamas & Papas said the partnership has worked well for both brands, and customers value the experience of touching and trying out the baby products before they buy.
