Two men stabbed in broad daylight by mystery knifeman

Two young men were stabbed by a mystery assailant as they walked along a street in broad daylight.

The victims, who are both 21, were approached from behind by an unknown man as they walked along Fishermead Boulevard at around 3pm on Saturday.

One was stabbed in the head and face and the other was stabbed in the head and hip.

After the motiveless attack, the offender ran away.

He was black, with what is described as a small round face.

Both victims required hospital treatment but the injuries are not life-threatening.

Investigating officer, Detective Inspector Ian Jarvis said: “This incident took place in the afternoon when people may have been passing by and saw the offence itself, or the offender leaving the scene.

“I would ask anyone with information about this incident or who may have seen a man matching the description to come forward.

“I would like to reassure the public that we are doing everything we can to trace this offender. I believe this was an isolated incident and people should not be worried about going about their ordinary business in Fishermead.
