Injured striker Kieran Agard will be welcome back at Stadium MK to continue his rehabilitation despite not being offered a new contract at the club.

Agard will leave Dons when his current deal expires, but as he recovers from injury, the doors will remain open for the striker to continue his rehabilitation until he finds a new club.

The 31-year-old has made just one appearance for Dons this season, netting twice in the 6-0 win over Norwich U21s in the Papa John's Trophy, but has seen his opportunities limited since the arrival of Russell Martin at the helm in November 2019.

Martin has often praised Agard's attitude during the course of his time on the sidelines, and said Agard is welcome to return to continue to train with the team until he finds a new club.

"Kieran has not played a huge amount and it has not always been his fault, it's just where the team has found itself and what I felt the team needed. And other things come into it as well because it's football, but what hasn't come into it is his personality, character and professionalism all the way through. He has been important for us off the pitch because of the way he conducts himself, he's top drawer.

"I have a huge amount of respect for him, the way he has behaved in a time which can be hugely frustrating for a player.

"He'll have a lot to offer someone, the service he has given here and the goals he has scored we really appreciate it and I'm sure the fans do too.

"He might end up back here training because of the service he has offered us and we want to make sure he is fully fit but I'm sure there will be a line of clubs interested in him."
