Campbell wants to help MK Dons to promotion after joining from Everton

MK Dons have completed their second signing on deadline day

MK Dons have bolstered their defensive ranks with the loan signing of Eli Campbell.

The 22-year-old defender arrives from Premier League Everton, having previously had loan spells in League One with both Fleetwood Town and most recently Port Vale.

The left-footed centre-back can also play at left-back, with his versatility something which alerted Dons boss Paul Warne to his services.

“I’m so excited to be part of this club and I can’t wait to get started,” said Campbell. “It’s a exciting time to be joining the squad on the back of a deserved promotion and I’m looking forward to fighting for another one.”

Head coach Warne added: “With Eli, we needed a left-footed centre half, wing back and left back, someone that could cover those positions, so he’s coming in on loan to compete in all of those positions really.

“He's athletic and has, as they all seem to have, a really nice left foot, and is technically a really good player so he comes with some good recommendations.

“I know he was at Port Vale last year on loan and did really well. He's another young player and he’s been welcomed into the club today.”
