Former MK Dons loanees make League Two moves

Both impressed during their time at Stadium MK

A pair of former MK Dons loanees have made moves to League Two sides.

Joe White was one of precious few positives to take from the miserable 24/25 season. On loan from Newcastle United, White made 35 appearances and scored six goals, returning to St James’ Park to then go out to League One side Leyton Orient last season.

Recalled in January though, he has returned to League Two on a permanent basis after signing a two-year deal to join Crewe Alexandra, where he will reunite for ex-Dons team-mate Luke Offord who also signed for the Railwaymen earlier this summer.

Striker Max Watters is also on the move, having agreed to join Port Vale. The 27-year-old is Vale’s ninth signing of the summer and adds much-needed firepower up front, having scored just 36 goals in League One last season as they went down as the division’s bottom club.

Watters impressed during his short time at Stadium MK in 2021, scoring seven goals in 14 appearances on loan from Cardiff City. Since being recalled by the Bluebirds, Watters has spent time at Barnsley and Dundee United, leaving the Tykes at the end of his contract earlier this summer.
