Four ex-MK Dons amongst the ten front-runners to take Huddersfield Town job

Lee Grant was given his marching orders from the west Yorkshire club on Saturday night

A host of former MK Dons bosses, and one ex-player have been linked with the vacant job at League One Huddersfield Town.

The Terriers sacked Lee Grant on Saturday following their 3-1 defeat to Burton Albion. The former Derby County, Sheffield Wednesday and Burnley goalkeeper took charge of Huddersfield in May, and started the season brightly with five wins in their opening seven games.

But the loss at the Pirelli Stadium leaves them ten points adrift of the automatic promotion spots but still in the play-off places in sixth.

According to TalkSPORT Bet, who offer the latest next manager odds, Liam Manning has been installed as the early 2/5 favourite to take over. Manning has been out of work since October when he was sacked by Norwich City, having only taken charge at Carrow Road in the summer. Manning spent a little over a year in charge at Stadium MK, leading them to within a point of automatic promotion in 2022.

Also amongst the front-runners is Salford City boss Karl Robinson at 10/1. Spending six-and-a-half years in charge at MK1, Robinson is still the only manager to take Dons to the Championship.

Russell Martin, who was sacked by Rangers earlier this season after a short but painful stint at Ibrox, is at 12/1 as is Stevenage boss Alex Revell. The 42-year-old scored four goals, and saved a penalty, in 17 games for Dons in 2016, and this season has led the Boro to eighth place in League One, just two points adrift of Huddersfield.
