Fullah hopes to go 'from a boy to a man' on loan at MK Dons
The teenager has spoken about his move to MK Dons
Ibrahim Fullah believes going out on loan to MK Dons will help him mature as a person and a footballer.
The 19-year-old has made the switch from Charlton Athletic to spend the season in Milton Keynes, getting first-team experience with Paul Warne’s side as they hope to mount a promotion challenge in League One this season.
Named the Addicks’ Young Player of the Season last time out, the teenager’s form last season has been rewarded with a new contract to keep him at The Valley, where he has been since he was a ten-year-old, with his loan deal intended to get him more senior football experience.
His move to MK1 is the first time he has been outside the watch of his parent club, and it is something Fullah is keen to get as much from as he can before returning to south London next summer.
He said: “Getting the opportunity to go on loan will help me and my development at this stage of my career and will help shape me from being a boy into a man. It will give me that experience in men’s football, so I can’t wait.”
Charlton manager Nathan Jones added: “Ibby is an excellent young player who we’re confident has a very bright future ahead of him.
"He’s now at an important stage of his development where regular playing time is crucial, and this loan will give him the opportunity to get that at a good club, where the style of football should suit his game.
"We’ll be keeping a close eye on his progress throughout the season and hopefully he’ll return to us having had a really productive and positive experience."
