Goode predicts Dons will get 'better and better' as new signings gel
“The longer the season goes on, I think we’ll get better and better.”
Settling into life at MK Dons has been pretty straight forward for Charlie Goode so far, and he can only see the side improving the more his fellow summer signings get their feet under the table.
The centre-back was the first signing through the door when the window re-opened, agreeing the move after leaving Stevenage at the end of last season, following their play-off semi-final defeat to Stockport County.
With seven more players, so far, heading through the door at Stadium MK, there is a new feel about Paul Warne’s side at the beginning of the League One campaign as they look to mount a challenge for promotion to go back-to-back.
While bedding in has been easy, according to Goode, he believes the more time passes, the more Dons’ new signings will gel with the rest of the group and make the side a force in the division.
“There are so many good players here. The manager has built a really good squad, everyone is buying into it. When you get so many new bodies, it can take a little bit of time but I’m so confident in the weeks to come, we’ll start on a good run.
“It feels like a long time ago since I joined now! The dressing room is really good, it’s full of experience. I’ve played against a lot of them before, and they have been great with me. We’re very tight-knit already and I think that can take you a long way. We’ll stay like that, and I’m really enjoying it here so far.
“This group is more than good enough to cause problems at this level, and that’s the reason I’m here. I can see it, the manager wants it the players want it and we’re all on the same page in terms of what we want to achieve. The longer the season goes on, I think we’ll get better and better.”
