Hero's welcome for ex-Dons striker on his return to Toulouse

It was an emotional return to Toulouse for the frontman

Ex-MK Dons striker Rhys Healey was given a hero’s welcome when he returned to former club Toulouse on Saturday.

The hitman joined the French side from Stadium MK in 2020 for a seven-figure sum and went on to become a cult figure for the Les Violets during his three-year spell.

Scoring 40 goals in 77 appearances, he helped the side return to the French top flight in 2021/22, finishing as Ligue 2’s top scorer and named in the team of the season.

He returned to England in 2023 with Watford before moving to Huddersfield, but after an unsuccessful spell in west Yorkshire, he parted company with the Terriers earlier this summer.

He has been maintaining fitness with the PFA team free agents team, even scoring a stellar free-kick against former club Watford last week.

But returning to France over the weekend to watch Toulouse in action against Lyon, he was spotted by home supporters who broke out in a rendition of his old song, which the striker described as ‘incredible’ in a video on social media.
