League Two leaders respond to MK Dons' "biggest club" claims

MK Dons’ recent bold statements have gained plenty of traction online this week, not least from League Two’s current pace setters.
Scott Lindsey claimed MK Dons were the biggest club in the league on Saturday after his side were 3-1 winners against Morecambe, while Joe Tomlinson doubled down on Tuesday night after the 2-1 win over Accrington Stanley, claiming Dons could be the biggest club in the bottom two divisions.

Hide AdDons already draw plenty of ire from social media for simply existing, but the statements this week have only poured fuel on those fires, with fans from almost every club in the fourth tier rising to the bait.
Included amongst them are league leaders Port Vale. The Valiants were 1-0 winners at Stadium less than two weeks ago, and are currently two points clear of the chasing pack after 13 games played, nine points clear of Dons.
After catching wind of Dons’ comments, Port Vale responded in kind with a picture of striker Ruari Paton giving a crafty side-eye to the cameras.
“The rest of League Two like...” wrote Port Vale’s X admin in response.
Dons do not head to Burslem to lock horns with Port Vale at Vale Park until the middle of March next year.
