Warne hopes for a 'humdinger' in front of a sold-out Stadium MK

The match is set to break several records

MK Dons boss Paul Warne hopes to put on a show for the 23,000+ fans in attendance when his side face Harrogate Town on Saturday.

The game has been declared a sell-out, with the allocated free tickets now all taken up for the League Two game at Stadium MK.

Dons, who sit third in the table, take on bottom club Harrogate, who they beat 4-0 earlier in the season, with head coach Warne eager to see MK1 full again, having only ever seen it as a visiting boss down the years.

Warne said: “I’ve been here managing a few clubs when it has been busy, and I worked here under Neil Warnock when it was lively!

“It’s good, it’s good for the lads but also for the opposition. I hope it makes for a real humdinger of a game. I don’t want it to feel like an end-of-season testimonial game, we’ve got to go out and win it.

“If people come through the door, enjoy it and want to come back then that’s great. Hopefully we give a good account of themselves and if they do, it should be an entertaining game.”

Speaking about the sell-out, CEO Neil Hart added: “While it was a bit of a gamble, the incredible uptake and enthusiasm from the people of Milton Keynes has already been a huge success.

“We’ve never engaged with the city so proactively before, and I’m absolutely delighted at the overwhelming positive response.

“I’d like to sincerely thank all the staff at Stadium MK for pulling everything together for what promises to be a truly special day tomorrow.

“We can’t wait to see you, so get down here early, soak up the atmosphere, and enjoy everything live football has to offer.”
