Trump won the title last year at the same venue when he beat Robertson 9-8 in a dramatic final.

In all there will be over 70 players in the field, also including the likes of Kyren Wilson, Shaun Murphy, Mark Williams, Jack Lisowski and legend Stephen Hendry.

It’s the second of the season’s BetVictor Home Nations Series and the tournament will be televised by Eurosport as well as a range of broadcasters worldwide.

A spokesman for WST said: “The line up is incredible, all of the best players on the planet are in the field. It will be fascinating to see those great talents like Trump, O’Sullivan, Selby and many more competing for a very prestigious title.

“During the pandemic we staged over 20 events behind closed doors at the same venue in Milton Keynes and that proved to be a vital factor in keeping our tour going. Now, for the first time, we are able to open the doors to all of the fans in the region who may never have had the chance to see snooker live.

“Our message to them is to come and find out what a fantastic day out it is, and the remarkable value for money we offer for the chance to see sport of the highest quality.

We also want to thank our partners at the venue for their great support over the past 18 months and hopefully we can deliver an outstanding event in November.”
