The Great British Sewing Bee are looking for a collection of amateur home sewers to brave critique from Judges' Patrick Grant & Esme Young. Applications are open to everyone 18 or over (by the 1st January 2026) and must be a UK resident (including Isle of Man and Channel Islands). Full Rules of Entry can be found at www.applyforsewingbee.co.uk.
The casting team are looking for enthusiastic home sewers with a love for sewing and creating garments. Applicants need to have experience making different types of garments as the challenges can involve making womenswear, menswear and childrenswear. It’s ok for applicants to not have experience in making every type of garment and doing every technique. There is always time to practice through the process and the team understands that everyone has their own strengths and weaknesses.
Tips for filling out your application are; include as much information about yourself and your sewing, your strengths and weaknesses and garments you have created. The team recommend you include as many photos as you can and to upload a video of yourself showing off your personality! Most importantly, tell us why you would love to be on The Great British Sewing Bee and what sewing means to you.
The closing date for applications is 8pm on Wednesday the 13th May 2026. If you or someone you know are interested in applying, visit www.applyforsewingbee.co.uk. The casting team recommends you do not leave it to the last minute to apply as they are unable to accept applications after the deadline. If an applicant has been successful to the next stage they will contacted by a member of the production team. If an applicant has not heard from the team by Friday 29th June 2026, then unfortunately the application has not been successful on this occasion.
Many successful the sewers in past series didn’t make it through the first time they applied so if you’ve applied before, don’t hesitate to try again. This year could be your year!
