Charity applications open for the 2027 Franklins £50 Challenge
Charities are being invited to apply to become one of up to 12 charity partners for the 2027 Franklins £50 Challenge, which has raised nearly a quarter of a million pounds for good causes since it began.

Now entering its ninth year, the Franklins £50 Challenge is an annual three-month fundraising campaign bringing local charities, businesses and organisations together to make a difference. Franklins provides the structure and support to make it happen, with each participating team receiving £50 and using its creativity, ideas and connections to raise as much as possible for its chosen charity.
Applications are open now, with charities having until Friday 2nd October 2026 to apply.
Since the challenge began, participating teams have raised nearly a quarter of a million pounds for local charities. This year alone, 56 teams raised more than £50,000 for 12 charity partners.
The 2027 challenge will run from 23rd February to 29th May 2027, with successful charity partners announced later this October.
While raising money is at the heart of the challenge, becoming a charity partner offers much more. It is an opportunity for charities to raise awareness of their work, reach new supporters, connect with local businesses and build valuable relationships within the community.
Franklins coordinates and supports the campaign from beginning to end, giving charities and fundraising teams the structure, guidance and promotion they need during their fundraising journey. Throughout the three months, the Franklins team helps maintain momentum by sharing weekly updates and stories from across the campaign, celebrating fundraising achievements and creating opportunities for charities and teams to connect and support one another.
The challenge culminates in an awards and celebration event hosted by Franklins, bringing charities and fundraising teams together to recognise their achievements and celebrate the collective impact of the campaign.
Franklins is looking for charities that are enthusiastic, engaged and ready and ready to play an active part in the challenge.
Each selected charity partner will be expected to recruit a minimum of five fundraising teams, primarily from the local business community. Charities will also be asked to promote the challenge through their own networks, support and encourage their teams throughout the campaign and work collaboratively with Franklins to help make the challenge a success.
Franklins is particularly keen to hear from local charities that want to engage with local businesses and supporters, can commit time to being actively involved and have ideas about how they could make the most of the opportunity.
Rosanna Stimson, Associate Partner and Head of Marketing at Franklins Solicitors, who leads the £50 Challenge, said: “The £50 Challenge has gone from strength to strength and every year we are amazed by what our charity partners and fundraising teams achieve. This year our teams raised more than £50,000 and we would love to build on that success in 2027.
“We provide the framework and support throughout the challenge, but its success comes from everyone getting behind it. We’re looking for charities that are enthusiastic, keen to build new connections and ready to work with us to maximise impact.”
Applications to become a 2027 Franklins £50 Challenge charity partner are open now.
Charities interested in taking part are invited to complete a short application telling Franklins about their work, the difference the challenge could make and how they would get involved - including their approach to recruiting and supporting fundraising teams.
Applications must be submitted by Friday 2nd October 2026. Up to 12 charity partners will be selected, with the successful charities announced later in October.
