Marcus Parias, who heads up site operations at family-run construction company Parias Construction & Interiors (PCI), will be tackling the iconic 26.2-mile course through the capital in April 2027, all in support of a charity that makes a real difference to people across Milton Keynes and the surrounding areas.

More accustomed to managing busy construction sites than training for a marathon, Marcus is preparing for one of his biggest personal challenges yet, and he's hoping the local community will get behind him.

A different kind of challenge

As part of the family behind PCI, Marcus is no stranger to hard work, commitment and seeing a job through to the finish.

His day-to-day role involves overseeing construction projects, supporting site teams and helping develop the next generation of construction professionals.

Now, he's putting that same determination to the test, with months of training ahead before he lines up alongside thousands of other runners at one of the world's most famous marathons.

Marcus said: "It's going to be a big challenge, but knowing I'm doing it for such a worthwhile cause will keep me going. Hopefully, I can raise a good amount along the way!"

Supporting a charity at the heart of the community

Marcus has chosen to raise money for Willen Hospice, a much-loved Milton Keynes charity providing specialist palliative care and support to people living with life-limiting illnesses, as well as their families.

The charity relies on the generosity of local people, businesses and fundraisers to help support its services, making challenges like Marcus's an important way of raising both funds and awareness.

For PCI, supporting the local community is an extension of the family values that have shaped the business and helped it build lasting relationships with clients for more than 25 years.

And while Marcus may be the one clocking up the miles, he'll have plenty of encouragement from his colleagues as the big day approaches.

Can Milton Keynes help Marcus reach the finish line?

With the London Marathon taking place in April 2027, Marcus has several months of preparation ahead, balancing his training schedule with the demands of overseeing construction projects.

He's now calling on local residents, businesses, friends and colleagues to support his fundraising efforts and help make every mile count.

Whether it's a small donation or simply sharing his fundraising page, every bit of support will help Marcus raise money for a charity providing essential care to people in the local community.
