Hospice charity shop celebrates 25 years in Winslow
“We were all absolutely delighted to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of our Winslow shop opening this week”
Florence Nightingale Hospice Charity’s Winslow shop, on the town’s High Street, celebrated its 25th anniversary on Thursday 20th August. Since opening in 2001, thanks to the generosity of the local community, the shop has helped to fund free hospice care for the last 25 years.

The shop was delighted to invite customers and Winslow’s Mayor, Cllr Gordon Wiseman, to join them on the day for a slice of cake and a chance to reflect on 25 successful years serving the local community.
As part of their celebrations, the shop also had a special visit from local MP, Callum Anderson, who spent his afternoon behind the scenes of the shop, meeting volunteers and gaining an understanding of charity retail.

“We were all absolutely delighted to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of our Winslow shop opening this week,” commented Lily Caswell, Director of Retail at the Charity. “It was a lovely occasion, and we were really pleased that the town mayor, Cllr Gordon Wiseman, joined us alongside volunteers and staff from the Charity.”
“When it opened in 2001, Winslow was the third Florence Nightingale Hospice Charity shop (and we now have 21 shops!). It is amazing to think that for 25 years, the Winslow shop has received millions of generous donations and served hundreds of thousands of customers, to raise funds that have provided free hospice care to the people of Buckinghamshire for a quarter of a century.”
“We are enormously grateful to everybody who has supported the shop over the past 25 years; and I would especially like to thank all of the amazing volunteers who have made it such a special shop.”
The Winslow shop is a favourite of the local community, offering great value on clothing for all seasons and occasions, as well as a fantastic range of homewares, books and toys.
