Housebuilder supports Milton Keynes residents with food bank donation
“We are so grateful to the Taylor Wimpey South Midlands team for kindly donating various products to MK Foodbank”
Taylor Wimpey South Midlands has donated a range of much-needed food items to a Milton Keynes-based food project which supports local people in crisis by providing emergency provisions.
The donation to the MK Foodbank is part of a national initiative by Taylor Wimpey to support food banks across the UK who may experience a spike in demand during the school holidays.
Since its establishment in 2004, MK Foodbank now distributes from ten serving centres across Milton Keynes and has supported more than 5,000 families a year, while providing short-term crisis support and care for those in need.
The team at Taylor Wimpey South Midlands set up a food bank collection point at its Head Office in Newton Leys for staff to donate to throughout June and July.
Louisa Hobbs, Head of Operations at MK Foodbank, said: “We are so grateful to the Taylor Wimpey South Midlands team for kindly donating various products to MK Foodbank.
“We rely on the generosity and kindness from not only our volunteers, but also individuals and local organisations like Taylor Wimpey to donate food or financial support to support local families across Milton Keynes. We are so thankful for this donation, and know this will provide a sense of relief to those in need.”
Fiona Lloyd, Sales and Marketing Director at Taylor Wimpey South Midlands, said: “Foodbanks provide vital support to families and individuals in need while experiencing food poverty. It is so important to support fantastic local charities, such as MK Foodbank, who ensure our wider Milton Keynes community receives care.
“We hope our donation can help both MK Foodbank and local families across the region feel supported.”
Taylor Wimpey South Midlands is currently building eight developments across Buckinghamshire, Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire and Northamptonshire, delivering a mix of two to five-bedroom properties, for a variety of buyers.
