Mayoress signs up after giving bowls a bash

Local Mayoress Sarah Day got Newport Pagnell's Bowls Bash! programme off to a great start when she played in a group of fellow newbies at the club's first Summer taster session.

The five Bowls Bash! events were timed to coincide with the Commonwealth Games and offered members of the public the chance to get together with their families and friends and give bowls a go in a relaxed, fun way.

Nearly 30 people enjoyed the magic of bowls in the club's beautiful surroundings in view of the Parish Church, and on what must be one of the best greens in north Buckinghamshire.

Everyone had a fantastic time, and Sarah enjoyed it so much that she decided to sign up as a club member!

Bowls Bash! resulted in at least five potential new members - so, who knows, Newport Pagnell might have a Commonwealth Games gold medallist on the horizon!
