Milton Keynes businesses tee up £15,700 for Willen Hospice
Eighty guests from 20 local businesses have helped raise £15,700 for Willen Hospice at its annual Corporate Golf Day, supported by headline sponsor MERKUR Casino UK.

Held at Aspley Guise and Woburn Sands Golf Club, the event brought businesses together on the course to raise funds for patients and families across Milton Keynes.
MERKUR returned as headline sponsor, also sponsoring a challenge hole and the tuck shop buggy. Its total support for 2026, including Christmas, amounts to £9,000.

The £15,700 raised could fund more than 580 hours of specialist Willen at Home nursing care. Alternatively, it could cover around 25 days of care on the hospice’s In-Patient Unit or more than 460 counselling sessions for patients and loved ones.
Keira Caso, Business & Partnerships Executive at Willen Hospice, said: “Our Willen Hospice Corporate Golf Day was a huge success, raising an incredible £15,700. We simply couldn't have achieved such a fantastic result without the support of Merkur, our headline sponsor.”
“Their generosity helped ensure that every pound raised on the day could go directly towards providing hospice care. We are incredibly grateful for their partnership and ongoing support.”
Mark Schertle, Chief Operating Officer at MERKUR Casino UK, said: “It’s a pleasure to support a golf day that brings local businesses together for Willen Hospice. Thank you to everyone who took part and contributed to this year’s £15,700 total.
“The day is about more than what happens on the course. The money raised will help the hospice care for people and families across Milton Keynes.”
The golf day forms part of MERKUR’s wider support as a Platinum Corporate Partner of Willen Hospice, including contributions to its home nursing service and Christmas dinners.
Following positive feedback from players and sponsors, the hospice is already planning next year’s event.
