Olney business celebrates double win at national landscaping awards
Olney-based George Davies Turf & Stone, a Harrowden company, has secured two prestigious national industry awards after being recognised for both its customer service and commitment to its employees.
George Davies Turf & Stone, which was founded by George Davies from his father’s farm in Olney 25 years ago, has won National Awards in the Supplier Exceptional Service and Employer Excellence – Turnover Over £2.5M categories at the 2026 British Association of Landscape Industries (BALI) National Landscape Awards.
The double success puts the Buckinghamshire-founded business among some of the leading companies in the UK landscaping industry during a landmark year in which the BALI National Landscape Awards are celebrating their 50th anniversary.
For George Davies Turf & Stone, the awards provide recognition for two areas that have long been central to the business: building lasting relationships with landscaping professionals and investing in the people responsible for delivering that service.
George Davies, founder and managing director of George Davies Turf & Stone, said: “We are absolutely delighted to have won two BALI National Awards. To be recognised for the service we provide to our customers and the way we support our team makes this particularly special.
“Exceptional service doesn’t happen by accident. It comes from having great people who care about what they do, understand our customers and are prepared to go the extra mile to make their lives easier. Equally, we know that if we want our team to give their best, we have a responsibility to create an environment where people feel valued, supported and able to develop.
“These awards belong to everyone across George Davies Turf & Stone. I’m incredibly proud of what the team achieves every day and it means a great deal to have that recognised by our own industry.”
George Davies Turf & Stone will join fellow National Award winners at the 50th anniversary BALI National Landscape Awards ceremony at the JW Marriott Grosvenor House Hotel in London on 4 December, when the Principal Awards, Special Awards and Grand Award will also be announced.
