Tales Tattled & Told presents Marion Leeper
Cambridge storyteller Marion Leeper puts a new spin on a familiar tale in Swan Bride Hits Back! at the popular Bletchley storytelling variety show for adults, Tales Tattled & Told at 7:30 pm on Saturday, 21 November. Forget tragic swans and duplicitous princes. In this version the swan bride confronts the thief and gets her own back!

Marion grew up in a family of tale-tellers and has been telling stories ever since, with more stories than she can ever quite count rattling round her head. Her versions of traditional tales range from stories embedded in the dark earth of the fens, to unexplored corners of myth and legend. She was the first Bard of Cambridge (2016). Known for her highly dynamic, interactive, and multi-sensory performances, her repertoire spans from local East Anglian Fenland ghost lore to highly creative, feminist adaptations of 16th-century romance literature and myth.
She helped get the popular East Anglia Storytelling Festival off the ground, is a long-time member of Cambridge Storytellers, and has performed at Cambridge and Ely Folk Festivals, The Whittlesea Straw Bear Festival, the Cambridgeshire Talking Together Festival of Stories, and the magnificent Crankie festival in Aberystwyth 2024, among others.
This evening of acoustic storytelling and music by and for adults is hosted by Stephen Eames and includes music from the wonderful a capella choir Gracenotes. With more stories from Lynette Hill, Stephen Hobbs, Stella Girvin and Jane Lambourne. This event is intended for ages 16 and older. Tickets are £7.70 online through WeGotTickets.com and £9 at the door. Doors open at 7 pm for a 7:30 pm start. Make your way to the historic Rectory Cottages at 49 Church Green Rd, Bletchley, Milton Keynes MK3 6BJ. Parking is free on Church Green Road and behind the venue.
