Long Meadow School, in Shenley Brook End, wrote to parents on Wednesday (September 16) telling them that another three members of staff have tested positive for the virus - which takes the school's infected total to five members of staff.

In the letter, signed by deputy-headteacher Emma Kidd, the primary school said none of the infected staff have come into contact with children and that they are all now self-isolating.

The letter goes on to say: "We continue to have no confirmed child Covid-19 cases within school and we remain open to all year groups. We are working in partnership with Public Health England and Milton Keynes Council as we continue to manage this fast-moving situation.

"Current advice is that the school is safe to remain open. With their help, we continue to monitor the situation carefully and to ensure that we have appropriate measures in place to reduce risk."

Last week, the school reported its first cases of Covid-19 infections and had to deep-clean parts of the building.
