And businesses all over the city are being encouraged to feel good by doing good by joining in and giving MK a spring clean.

The initiative is aimed not just at improving the environment but also improving mental health by "promoting mindfulness, through movement and reconnecting with nature", say organisers Fusion Spaces.

The Sherington-based company, which specialises in employees physical and mental wellbeing at work, says it has seen a rise in mental health issues and eco-anxiety recently.

Co founder Jayne Cox said: "The mindful litter pick aims to address both of these issues. It gets employees out in the fresh air, with other people and helps to reconnect them with nature. By litter picking they are also staving off eco-anxiety as they are doing something positive for the environment.”

The litter pick is on Friday March 20 to celebrate the first day of the Great British Spring Clean which runs until April 13 and is part of the Keep Britain Tidy campaign.

It starts at 2pm for 2.30pm at Caldecotte Lake car pa. You can click here to sign up.

"Fusion Spaces hopes to make mindful litter picks in the local area a regular occurrence," said Jane.
