Milton Keynes ranked among top 10 locations in the country for watching England World Cup matches
Milton Keynes has been ranked among the top 10 locations in the country for watching England’s World Cup matches.
Credit card company Aqua has released the findings of a study, in which it examined the best locations to watch England games based on factors including average drink prices, weather conditions and the estimated number of bars and pubs showing football per 100,000 people.
Milton Keynes came in tenth place in the study, which found the average price of a pint in the city was £5, while the average price of a soft drink was £1.40.
In relation to weather, Aqua’s study said the average June temperature in Milton Keynes was 14.9C, there was an average of 185.7 hours of sunshine this month, and an average of 54.2 millimetres of rain in June.

The survey also found that there were 28 beer gardens in the city per 100,000 people, and estimated that per 100,000 people, 23 bars and pubs across the city are showing World Cup games.
Dudley tops the rankings with 55 pubs and bars showing the football per 100,000 people and the highest number of beer gardens, 57 per 100,000 people.
Blackpool is in second place overall, featuring the UK’s second cheapest pint in the study at £3.50.
Portsmouth is in third, while two towns in neighbouring counties also make the top ten, with Northampton sixth and Luton ninth.
Commercial director at Aqua Scott Yule said: “With the World Cup bringing people together in beer gardens across the UK, fans are gearing up for more social plans than usual.
“Match days can quickly add up in cost and without a clear budget and open communication with the people around you, it can be easy to overspend and later stress about money.
“Finding the best-value spots to enjoy the games can help fans soak up the atmosphere without breaking the bank.”
England’s FIFA World Cup campaign begins with a fixture against Croatia in Dallas on Wednesday June 17, kicking off at 9pm UK time.
The Three Lions then face Ghana on Tuesday June 23 in Boston in another 9pm kick-off, before concluding their group stage campaign against Panama in New Jersey on Saturday June 27 at 10pm.
