The best time to play MK Dons? Evatt thinks so

Bolton boss Ian Evatt believes taking on MK Dons in the first game of the season is ideal for his side... because they have plenty of time to prepare for it.

Dons, known to play a tough brand of football to defend against, travel to the University of Bolton Stadium this afternoon to take on the newly promoted side, and their manager believes it could be the best time to play them.

“This is probably the game you’d want first because it does give you time to analyse,” he told Bolton News.

“They do things very differently, the way they play out from the back, the way they rotate and move, it is quite technical and detailed, so you need to spend time working on your pressing strategy and how we go about the game.”

Fisher is a maybe, but Watters misses out

Andrew Fisher faces a late fitness test to be ready in time to face Bolton this afternoon. The goalkeeper limped out of a pre-season friendly earlier this summer, but returned to training this week. Dean Lewington confirmed the keeper would be a late inclusion as he sees how his injury settles after training on Friday.

Max Watters meanwhile will miss out after also picking up an injury which required a scan.
