A look ahead to MK Dons' clash with League Two champs Bromley

Previewing MK Dons’ home game against Bromley at Stadium MK, kicking off at 7.45pm

Last season’s League Two top two will lock horns again on Tuesday night but they are both a far cry from those heady heights.

Neither MK Dons nor Bromley have taken to the third tier like ducks to water as they would have hoped. Champions Bromley head to Milton Keynes sat 22nd in League One, having just parted ways with boss Andy Woodman, only five months after he guided them to the title. Dons meanwhile only won their first game back in the division 10 days ago, and though they have backed it up with another since, sit 18th and only three points clear of the Ravens.

When the sides met back in April, it was a blood and thunder encounter, with many predicting the winner would likely to go on and lift the League Two crown. While Dons took the spoils that day, winning 2-1, it would not be the case, drawing with Fleetwood Town on the final day of the season to allow Bromley to nip in and claim the title.

That win at Stadium MK remains Dons’ only triumph against the south London side, who have won two of the three other meetings.

But they head to MK1 off the back of a miserable run, one which cost Woodman his job at the helm. Eight defeats in ten games saw them drop down the division, with just one since the opening day of the season to write home about. Woodman’s assistant Byron Webster took charge of the side on Saturday and they secured a point at home to fellow strugglers Peterborough, ending a run of five consecutive defeats.

Dons meanwhile have had a tough start to the league campaign, but in all competitions head into the game with four wins in six, beating Stevenage 1-0 at the weekend to claim their second win in the division.

Referee Scott Jackson will take charge of the game, his 13th game of the season. So far, he has shown 48 yellows, two reds and awarded three penalties. Dons fans last saw him in the 2-1 home defeat to Accrington in September 2025, one of only two games he has overseen.

Bromley have a middling record with Jackson in charge, winning three, losing three and drawing one of the seven games he has officiated.

Assistants Carl Fitch-Jackson and Thomas Harty will run the lines with Fourth Official Alan Young.
