Dons owe fans a performance and points in clash against Luton
More than 6,000 tickets have been sold in the away end at Stadium MK
A bumper crowd is expected at Stadium MK when MK Dons and Luton Town lock horns, and defender Charlie Goode is keen to put on a good show.
Still waiting to see their side win their first league game of the season, Goode admitted he and his team-mates let the Dons faithful down last week in their 5-1 crumbling defeat to Reading at MK1, with this Saturday’s early kick-off against the Hatters an opportunity to bounce back.
With Luton selling out their allocation of more than 6,000 tickets for their first ever trip to Stadium MK, the atmosphere is set to be a bubbling one, with neither set of supporters especially keen on the other.
Goode said he loves playing in those sorts of environments and hopes it will help encourage he and his team-mates to find an extra gear to finally get their first win of the season.
“I like those sorts of atmospheres, in a local derby, rivalry, whatever you want to call it,” Goode said. “At the end of the day, it’s a 90 minute game of football and we’ve got to do all we can to come out on top.
“We didn’t do enough for the fans, we should not be conceding that many goals at home or losing a game in that manner. We owe them now in a game we know they desperately want us to go and win.”
Speaking about the clash with Luton, he continued: “It’s another big game, I feel like we’ve had a lot of them already this season. As players, these are the games you want to be involved in.
“It’ll be two teams that are going to go at it, both want to win. We’ve got to use (the atmosphere) to our advantage, make Stadium MK our fortress. I’m fully confident we can go and get the win.”
