Relive Live Aid in MK with hit musical
It was an unprecedented global music event that brought 1.5 billion people together – and audiences in Milton Keynes can get a taste of Live Aid next year thanks to a hit new musical.
Just For One Day - The Live Aid Musical gives audiences the chance to discover the behind-the-scenes story of “the greatest gig in music history” in a whole new way.

It features hit songs by Bob Dylan, David Bowie, The Who, U2, Queen, Madonna, The Police, Elton John, Paul McCartney, Diana Ross and more of the artists who made history at simultaneous charitable concerts in London and Philadelphia on July 13, 1985.
The West End production opened in May 2025 following a successful North American run in Toronto and a record-breaking world premiere at London’s The Old Vic theatre where it became the theatre’s fastest selling musical ever. The show will be heading out on tour next year.

Live Aid was held in aid of famine relief in Ethiopia, and was organised by Sir Bob Geldof – who is a fan of the show himself.
Sir Bob said: "Just For One Day brilliantly reimagines why Live Aid worked then and why the humanity of that day still matters now.
"I'm delighted that more of the UK will finally get to see this extraordinary and compelling musical. The reaction the show gets continually surprises and amazes me, standing ovations and people come back time and again, introducing the Live Aid story to new generations."
Just For One Day - The Live Aid Musical will continue to support the work of The Band Aid Charitable Trust with £1.6 million raised to date.
The trust was set up in 1984. Over the last 40 years it has been operated by the same group of unpaid trustees and with no employees. The trust’s mandate is “the relief of hunger and poverty in Ethiopia and the neighbourhood thereof”. It has raised and spent more than £140 million.
During its 40-year history it has funded food, medicine, housing, hospitals, surgery, immunisation, bridges, irrigation, water supplies, livestock, schools and more. All of the trust’s income from the ticket sales of Just For One Day will go directly to these charitable activities.
The show is written by John O’Farrell and directed by Luke Sheppard, with musical supervision, arrangements and orchestration by Matthew Brind, choreography by Ebony Molina and casting by Stuart Burt. It is produced by Jamie Wilson Productions, whose shows include The Devil Wears Prada and Avenue Q.
Just For One Day will run at Milton Keynes Theatre from September 21 to 25, 2027. Visit atgtickets.com/MiltonKeynes to book.
