A city's prosperity is about more than its economy. Pay, skills, house prices and working hours all affect how well off the people who live there are.

Go Humanize AI compared 64 cities using five metrics. Median weekly earnings counted for 30% of each city's score, GDP per head for 25%, Level 3 qualifications for 20%, house prices for 15% and hours worked for 10%.

Milton Keynes scored 30.6. Its standout result is GDP per head, at £55,111, the second highest of any city in the study.

Pay is another strength. Residents earn a median of £703.60 a week, the eighth highest of the 64 cities, and the average house price of £329,000 ranks 14th.

Two metrics held the city back. Residents work a median of 35 hours a week, joint lowest in the study, and 64% hold Level 3 qualifications or above, which places Milton Keynes 41st.

The UK's most prosperous cities, according to Go Humanize AI, are:

1. Westminster (97.0)

2. St Albans (66.2)

3. Cambridge (59.8)

4. Winchester (53.1)

5. Oxford (52.1)

6. Edinburgh (51.9)

7. Chelmsford (46.7)
