Did anyone see this rare full circle rainbow over Milton Keynes?

The rare phenomenon was snapped by reader Ken Pumford.

"The picture doesn't do it justice, but there was full circle rainbow in the stratosphere above Milton Keynes and it lasted for two hours," Ken told the MK Citizen.

Ken added: "I'm 50 and I've never seen one before. I wonder who else saw it."

The sky was grey inside the circle and bright blue outside, he said.

A full circle rainbow is called a 'glory'.

Sky conditions have to be just right for it to happen and and even if they are, the bottom part of a full-circle rainbow is usually blocked by the horizon.

NASA defines a glory an optical phenomenon that "looks like small, circular rainbows of interlocking colors."
