I'm more than just a target man says Aneke
He may stand head-and-shoulders above most, but in part two of the Citizen's interview with Chuks Aneke, he says he feels he is more than just a body to lump the ball up to.
Standing at a rock solid 6ft3in, it would be easy to pigeon-hole Aneke as a target man.
With a scoring record of around one in three during his last spell in England - at Crewe between 2012 and 2014 - the 23-year-old back himself to be just as adept with his feet as he is with his hold-up play.
"I like the ball at my feet, and play to football," he said. "With my height and strength, I can win headers - I WILL win headers - but I'm good with my feet. As time goes on, you'll see I'm not just a target man."
READ PART ONE: Aneke on his year on the sidelinesHis goals could prove to be all-the-more vital this season too. With Nicky Maynard failing to find the back of the net so far this campaign, Dons have scored 25 league goals so far, while shipping 30 at the wrong end to leave them 19th in League 1.
Having watched every game at Stadium MK apart from one - when he played against Chesterfield - from the sidelines this season, Aneke believes Dons haven't got what they've deserved so far, and haven't clicked yet.
He said: "There are people who can score goals and make assists, but there are other reasons this team is where it is. I've been at every home game this season, and I feel the team has been good. But sometimes teams just don't click and you don't get the results.
"There have been five or six games where I felt we should have picked up the three points and we've come away with nothing. Now it's just about putting results on the board, whatever way it can happen."
