“I don't want the fans to feel like that, I want us to be proud of what we're doing”

A win by any means would lift a huge weight off everyone at MK Dons at the moment.

Nine defeats in 13 games, and only two wins, has seen Scott Lindsey’s side drop well down the table, now 15th in League Two from third where they sat at the start of this run.

With morale around the club low at the moment, Lindsey admitted times are tough of late as they desperately seek a way out of their rut.

“I don't want to be walking down the street and laughed at because we can't win a game,” said the head coach. “I don't want the fans to feel like that, I want us to be proud of what we're doing, but it is an ongoing process and we will get there.

“These players haven't become bad players overnight, I've not become a bad manager overnight. It's just our position at the moment and we have to work through it at the moment, stick together, focus and prepare for the next game. We just have to keep going. With the work ethic I'm sure we'll be fine.”

The players and staff met on Thursday morning to discuss their current form, and how to approach the rest of the season, something which Lindsey felt had a positive outcome.

He said: “We had a positive meeting, where a lot of people spoke. We all really care and we all want to change this quickly. Nothing better than a long trip to Tranmere to put that right.

“The meetings are just as important as training, for me. We can highlight what we got right and what we didn't, and can highlight what went wrong. Footballers are visual learners, they can watch and understand, and we make it clear.

“I want this to be a learning environment, and we make it about that, and to build a winning environment, but we haven't quite got there yet. I can see the frustration in the lads to have come away with no points.”
