Sherrock claims first Women's Series title of the year

The city’s darts star was the emphatic winner

It was a return to winning ways for Fallon Sherrock as she cruised to a 5-0 win over Lisa Ashton to win her first title in 16 months.

The Milton Keynes darts ace denied Ashton a second crown in Leicester in rounds 17 and 18, reinforcing her spot as the third best player in the rankings.

The pair met back in July at the World Matchplay semi-finals, and replicated the result too with a one-sided 5-0 thumping.

It was an emphatic afternoon for 32-year-old Sherrock en route to victory. She conceded just one leg in beating Hollie McKain and Julie Whitehouse, then saw off Jody Hancock with an excellent 93 average and easing past Leanne Topper to reach the quarter finals.

The 2022 Women's World Matchplay winner dispatched Aoife McCormack 5-0 before battling past Gemma Hayter 5-3 in the last four to reach her fourth final of the year.

Ashton, who won round 17 of the competition 5-0 against Lauryn Salter, proved no match for Sherrock in the final though as she was whitewashed by the city star as she claimed her first title of 2026.
