The event, a collaboration between Ring and the independent charity Crimestoppers, is travelling across the UK throughout 2026 to transform local cafés into hubs that encourage conversations about neighbourhood safety. The tour recognises that the most effective neighbourhood safety comes from combining technology with strong community relationships.

As part of the ‘NeighbourGood Café Tour’, a donation of £1,000 of Ring devices has been made to a charity in each location to help bridge community spirit with smart home security. Community Action MK was chosen by Ring to receive the donation in recognition of the important work it does to support local voluntary and community organisations, strengthen neighbourhood connections and help build safer, stronger communities across Milton Keynes.

Josan Race from Community Action MK said: “Our work is all about helping people feel more connected and supported in their communities, so a donation like this goes a long way. We're delighted to be able to put these devices into the hands of local residents and give them that extra layer of security and peace of mind at home.”

Ring's 'NeighbourGood Café Tour' was supported by new Ring research of 2,000 people across the UK which revealed that three quarters of people in the South East believe a street where neighbours know each other and communicate regularly feels safer compared to one where neighbours keep to themselves. A further 45% of people in the South East believe that installing security devices, like doorbell cameras, would make them feel safer in their community.

At the free event, neighbours picked up a complimentary hot drink before sharing their own experiences, discovering how smart home technology complements traditional community safety, and hearing from Crimestoppers about the value of anonymously passing on what they know, have seen or have heard about crime.

Ring’s research also shows that over 70% of people in the South East said they would likely share suspicious activity captured on a home security camera with their neighbours, while 67% said they’re confident their neighbours would tell them if something unusual happened at their property while they were away.

The NeighbourGood Café Tour has visited communities across the UK throughout 2026, including Leeds, Birmingham, Greater Manchester, Cardiff, Reading and Milton Keynes, with more stops to come.
