Cat stuck on Milton Keynes roof is rescued after three days – but who owns him?

A cat stuck on a roof for three days has been dramatically rescued – but nobody can trace his owner.

The dark grey and white cat was first spotted perched precariously on the roof of a house in Loriner Place, Downs Barn, on Saturday August 29 and residents rallied round trying to persuade him down.

But the moggy was too scared to budge and both the fire service and the RSPCA were too busy to help.

"They hoped the cat would manage to get down on his own as he’d clearly got up there unaided – possibly by jumping onto a nearby shed. But it became clear, as time passed, that he was too scared to do this,” said one resident.

By day three the cat was looking lethargic without food or water, though neighbours had tried in vain to throw up cat treats.

Local roofing company Dexters Build Ltd came to the rescue this morning (Monday September 1) and sent a man and a giant ladder.

"He put the ladder up and started climbing. The cat was so scared at this man and ladder appearing that he promptly plucked up the courage to jump down...After all that time, he was safe!” said a resident.

However, it remains a mystery who owns the cat, which was wearing a neon green collar. Despite extensive photos and posts on social media, nobody has come forward to claim him.

"We’d just like to know the cat is okay,” said the resident. "So many people were involved trying to get him down. It was a real community effort. But it’s a mystery who the owner is.”
