UPDATED: M1 northbound now clear after accident
The northbound carriageway of the M1 is now clear after a road accident earlier this afternoon.
Traffic was queueing for several miles following the crash on Friday afternoon between junction 15 for the A45 and junction 15A for the A43 Milton Malsor, resulting in a lane closure.
The queues were also affecting junction 14 for the A509 and tailbacks were causing disruption along the motorway which affected those travelling from Milton Keynes.
The scene has now been cleared and made safe and traffic is once again moving freely.
